new life … new hope

This Spring, will you partner with us to bring HOPE to women who are experiencing trauma and a lack of hope for the future? Christ’s love compels us to acts of compassion in order that others would experience the freedom He brings.

With your generosity you can help empower refugees in Thailand and trafficking survivors in Indonesia for a better future.

Empowerment means women gain a sense of self-worth by getting:
their right to have and to determine choices;
their right to have access to opportunities and resources;
their right to have power to control their own lives.

Our goal is $10,000

Thailand: Life Raft Cooking Program

A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee conflict or persecution and has crossed an international border to seek safety. They cannot return to their country without risking their life or freedoms. It is a legal term that carries with it certain protections that refugees are entitled to. However, in Thailand, refugees have no rights and thousands are held in detention centres indefinitely.

We are partnering with Matthew Price and Life Raft to sponsor the Cooking Program. While refugees are not legally allowed to work, they are allowed to volunteer and receive honorariums. In the cooking program, a woman who has a husband in a detention centre, is empowered to be the sole income earner for her family by cooking meals. She is provided with food to cook meals from her culture, these meals are then taken into the detention centre to feed those who are detained from her culture. She is then provided with an honorarium based on the number of meals she has cooked.

Your giving will sponsor a woman in the cooking program and provide her with income, dignity, and purpose.

Indonesia:
Education for Trafficking Survivors

Human trafficking is the illegal trade of human beings. It’s the recruitment, control, and use of people for their bodies and for their labor. Through force, fraud, and coercion, people are being bought and sold against their will.

After people have been rescued they can be at high risk of being re-trafficked. Our partner in Indonesia is opening a training centre for women who have been rescued, in order to provide her with employability and life skills to reduce the risk of being re-trafficked.

If she can get sustainable income with an reputable employer who won’t exploit her, she has hope for her future.

The training centre will work with each survivor to train them with skills for jobs they are interested in, while also providing a curriculum that teaches employability skills in areas like customer service and hospitality.

Your sponsorship will help translate the curriculum into their language so they can begin learning and dreaming for a better future.
