What would you do if you didn’t own a single pair of underwear?

In Kenya, 1 million girls miss 6 weeks of school in a year, because of a lack underwear and pads. As a result, 65% of young women will drop out out of school which increases their chances by 5x for teenage pregnancy and 4x for HIV infection.

Working with a manufacturer in our network, Rachel Starkey, from Transformation Textiles, we provide underwear and pads for young women in Africa. 

Staying in school increases a young woman’s opportunities in life, including increased wage earning and a later sexual debut.  When a young woman completes 7 years of school, she married on average 4 years later than her counterparts and has 2.2 fewer children.
